The short version
Instaclips is a stateless tool. You paste an Instagram URL; we fetch the file; you download it; we forget everything. We don't require an account, we don't set tracking cookies, and we don't sell data because we don't have any to sell.
What we collect
Only what every web server sees by default when you visit any website:
- IP address — used transiently to fulfil your request and detect abuse. Not logged beyond 24 hours.
- User-Agent — the browser string your device sends. Not logged beyond 24 hours.
- The Instagram URL you pasted — processed in memory to fetch the file. Not stored after the request completes.
We do not log: which reels you downloaded, who you are, what other pages you visited, or anything that could be used to re-identify you across sessions.
Cookies
We use one piece of client-side storage: theme in localStorage, which remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. It never leaves your browser. We do not use tracking cookies, fingerprinting, or analytics cookies.
Third parties
When you request a download, your file is fetched from Instagram (Meta Platforms, Inc.). The file transits through our server only to rename it for your download — we never post anything back to Instagram on your behalf, and Instagram never sees your IP.
We do not embed third-party scripts, fonts from remote CDNs, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tracking infrastructure. Fonts are self-hosted via Next.js. Icons are inline SVG.
What you download
The downloaded files (video, audio, thumbnail) are served directly from Instagram's CDN. We do not alter them. We do not keep copies. We do not index them.
Creators — takedown requests
If you're a creator and you'd prefer your reels not be downloadable through Instaclips, get in touch and we'll add your URLs to a block list. We take these requests seriously and act on them quickly.
Children
Instaclips is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — child or adult. If you're under 13, please ask a parent before using any web tool that downloads media.
Changes
If we ever change the privacy posture (we don't plan to), we'll update this page with a new "last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use Instaclips after a change means you accept the updated terms.
